OLD lantern code
How to solve manually, so you may check my work.
Any group of numbers between the sets of 0000 and 0000 are garbage and should be discarded.
The first and last number in each segment is garbage and should be ignored. The actual numbers are the two middle numbers.

Introduction to The Operator
We over at 4chan's /x/ have been dealing with something of an ARG (so far as we can tell).
We would really appreciate it if any of you could help us play this game. While we have been doing fine so far, it appears to be picking up in ways we didn't expect.
We players are located on an irc channel for the most part. Feel free to join us, even just to chat.

The type of people we REALLY need involved are thus:
1. Skiddies/Hackers/Social Engineers
2. People willing to participate in real-world activities.
3. Some possible disposable income (of which we will be able to supply some, depending on the situation, but you never know what will be needed.)
Of course, any extra minds are a great asset and even if this is your first time playing an ARG, we will greatly appreciate your help.
The next development should be happening on /x/ at around 12 AM to 1 AM EST.
Here's an introduction for you:
For at least 2 months, but by some accounts as long as a year, the tripfag отсутствие выбора (translates to Absence of Choice) has been posting a 'test' image, sometimes with text, but mostly with a single unicode character (which changes for each post). On October 7, 2010, we started question why he was doing so.
He revealed that we may call him Operator, and that his posts are meant to alert people of the movement of data. What sort of data has not yet been revealed.
The following day, he did not post a thread. When asked why, he said it was because there was no data being sent.
We have the designations of 3 other operators, and the name of a place they store hazardous materials.
On the 12th, a regular tripfag, Peste, posted in Russian text asking to be recruited. He then posted encoded Russian that we have yet to crack and he won't explain to us that suddenly got the attention of the Operator. They immediately started interviewing him for recruitment. The Operator doing the interview was Absence of Mercy.
It is highly unlikely Peste is involved in running the game, but you must decide what you believe yourself.
On the 13th, they continued interviewing Peste. Absence of Choice then posted an image and a few unicode characters that no one was able to save before he deleted it. Absence of Mercy, referring to AoC as 'D', promptly flipped the fuck out.
AoM: WHAT THE FUCK D?! Really, why on Earth did you do that?!
Aoc: My friend, you forget who built that machine you are using. You disregard my advice completely, and insulted me for not acting on this. Rest assured I had my reasons. Now obviously, you're going to try for retribution. I would too. However, mind you, I also created the infrastructure for Oposno. If I die, everyone else in that facility goes with me. Think I am joke? Try me.
AoM: We'll continue this later.
AoC: No, we will not. You will leave the kid alone. This is not demand, it's order. The price of disobedience.... I give them everything.
AoM: Fine. Fuck off. We'll have words about this later D.
While Papillon has been having a hard time not pissing off the Operators, it seems like the game isn't over. AoC released an image we had recently been unable to find. It is our biggest source of info at this point.
As of November 5, the 'actual' game has started, with the release of coordinates. We also now have a babysitter in the IRC, the subject of much trolling by the players. If you come by the IRC and see _V_ posting, do say hello to him!
